Across the dry coastal desert of Peru, enormous geoglyphs stretch across the earth: animals, plants, geometric forms, and long, precise lines visible most clearly from above.

The Nazca Lines raise enduring questions. Who created them? Why were they made? How could their creators have envisioned such immense designs from the ground?

Their mystery is compelling, but so is the humility they evoke. A person standing on the desert floor can see only fragments. The larger pattern becomes visible from a different perspective.

This is true of our lives as well.

When we are inside a painful season, we often believe the fragments are the whole story. We see the unanswered message, the ending, the mistake, or the loss. Only later may we recognize that these moments were part of a larger design still unfolding.
